FRAUD!!

Caveat emptor

Facel Vegas are pretty rare cars. Amongst them, the Facel II is rarer still - and a RHD model is one of the rarest of them all (only a dozen in the UK).

So, you might just fancy the offer of an un-restored 1964 RHD Facel II advertised (with photo) on the website CarsOnline, apparently located in Calgary, Canada, and offered for sale by a certain Fransisca Wong (possibly in Indonesia).

Don't even be tempted...

This is another variety of internet fraud. The photo used is one of a set posted on the web by a previous owner when the car was sold about 3 years ago - Ms Wong will be pleased to send you the other photos in the set if you make enquiries about purchase.

This car (chassis no. HK2-B154) is actually in Europe and belongs to an FVCC member. It has never been owned by Ms Wong, never located in Canada or Indonesia, and it is not for sale.

The matter has been reported to the website concerned and we trust the page will be removed soon.

But beware: rare cars are an obvious target for this sort of crime and other fraudulent postings may appear.

About the Club

The FVCC was formed in 1977 under the name "Facel Vega Owners Club" by a few enthusiasts, and some of the founder members are still with the club today.

The aims of the club are to share the fun of classic cars, with the underlying serious purpose of preserving an historically significant vehicle of which only a small number remain. A register of cars which continue to exist is also maintained and members are asked to report sightings of this endangered species to the club historian - there are still a few "missing" cars to be located (listed here).

A colour magazine, the FaceLetter (three per year) contains articles on the history of the cars, restoration and technical subjects, sources for spare parts which are becoming more numerous now that some re-manufacture is taking place, and other Facel related news. Some of these articles have now been reproduced as Features on the website.
